About Bill Brandel

Personal

Bill has lived in Newton for over ten years and moved to Ward 5 with his wife, Mary, in 1999. Their son and daughter attend Zervas School. Bill has coached NAA basketball and soccer. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Michigan State University and is pursuing a Masters degree in Education. Mary is a free-lance editor and writer and an active volunteer in the Zervas PTO.

Bill is a recognized software industry analyst, e-Business practitioner, and award-winning journalist, with almost 20 years of experience in the technology industry. His professional career focuses on delivering results through innovation, communication, and leadership. After graduating from Michigan State University, Bill moved to Boston as a reporter and editor covering business and technology. He has been recognized by industry organizations for leading endeavors in Internet content and commerce.

Political

Running for Ward 5 Alderman is Bill's first campaign for public office. He is running now because he feels that it is time for Ward 5 to be heard and represented with a fresh voice and new ideas.
